Player health does not regenerate in the game, and using health kits only offers a temporary boost in health that dwindles back down over the course of an incursion. Unfortunately, that isn't the case, and one particular system that could really use some easing or fine-tuning is the health system. So one might think that also means the game would be more forgiving with its systems and difficulty. But while the tactical aspect is still very much intact in Rainbow Six Extraction, the realism part certainly looks like it has been thrown out the window, given its sci-fi premise. This is mainly due to their focus on tactical gameplay and realism, wherein a few bullets are more than enough to take down the player. If things go your way and you manage to kill the Protean, you'll be reward with a nice chunk of XP and bragging rights. The Rainbow Six games have always been more difficult than similar-looking shooters. Again, you're focus should be on the boss so take out these extra enemies as quickly as possible. Once the Protean's health drops below 50%, they'll start spawning enemies. Make use of them before you get low don't wait till you're about to die to go search for med kits. There are items scattered around the arena, including health and ammo. Whatever you do, just keep moving and shooting. Vigil, at level ten, will be able to cloak himself and teammates (as long as they don't run or reload) giving you enough time to pick someone one or to move to a safer location. Operator's like Rook and Tachanka are helpful with their armor boost and mounted LMG, respectively. Make sure to hit them with everything you've got. Be sure to duck behind cover when you see the infra-red beams. Her and her clones are able to shoot you from afar with high accuracy. Sledge can use also use the Sprawl to quickly move around/teleport, send out waves of lighting, and be an all around nuisance. Unfortunately, we've only been able to face the Protean Sledge, who uses a powered up Sledge Hammer and charge attacks, and Alibi, who uses guns and can clone herself. They're are basically Extraction's bosses. There are three so far - Smoke, Alibi, and Sledge - and each have different abilities. When it comes to tactics, it really depends on which Protean you face. This machine will send you to an arena where the fight will begin. they'll have special Operator style abilities, multiple life bars and be accompanied by other enemies (spawning in after you've depleted portions of their health).īefore facing them though, you'll need to find the Singularity Gateway. The goal is to take down a Protean – an Archæan version of an Operator. If you make it to the Gateway mission, know that you'll need a decent amount of health and ammo to be successful. Considering that the missions are randomized, there's a chance that you won't even get a chance to try it out after hours of play. For one, it's only offered as the third mission on Cautious or higher difficulties. Gateway is the most difficult mission in Extraction right now (sans Assignments and Maelstrom Protocol/end game content).
